The first time I was exposed to country music is when I was riding in a car with a friend; the song playing on the radio was, ?I Was Country When Country Was Not Cool?. I did not know that at that time my life would take a different road. I had always listened to rock and roll, and the last concert that I went to was a Janet Jackson concert. The next time I encountered country music was when a friend from work asked me to go with her, and some other ladies, to a concert. Back then, country to me had that old twangy sound; but much to my surprise it was not all twangy. I went to the Red Noon Salon to meet-up with my friends. We all climbed into cars and made our way to The Patriot Center for the concert. I cannot remember the name of the lady that sang before the man came out, but I think she is still in country music today. The first person I saw in concert was George Strait. I can still remember that night. I thought to myself, ?This is the place that I always wanted to be at but did not know about it?. The people were nice, and George sang his songs, and the people clapped for him. Some people were dancing, and the shadows on the wall were so cool to look at. (You will not find dancing like that at a rock?s roll concert. For me it was a little crazy) I know then that I have found a new home in country music.
I would have to say that I like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flats, Sugarland, Keith Urban, and Faith Hill?.of course, the list goes on and on and on :)???.
Spending all day at Nissan Pavillion with a few of my new friends and tailgating before the concert or a picnic.
