September 12, 2009 we will once again enjoy a Toby Keith concert (http://www.tobykeith.com/).

Last year's concert was a blast so we know this one will be a lot of fun too.

We will meet in the parking lot at Nissan at 4:30 pm. Please call me when you get there so I can tell you where we are set up. My cell will be emailed out Friday to all there will be attending or email me for it.

Food: Everyone will be on their own in regards to what they are bringing to eat/ share. Keep in mind we do not have a grill. I will bring brownies again to share.

You will find some of us going to Nicks every Friday night. So come on out and grab a bite to eat with us prior to the dance class at 7:45 pm (line dance in the front bar or partner dance lessons in the back bar) or just come, hang out, have fun and meet some new people.

Regular dancing starts at 9 pm with a live band.

Jason Aldean was born Feb. 28, 1977, and raised by his mother in Macon, Ga., with summers spent with his father in Homestead, Fla. In addition to taking him to concerts by Kenny Rogers, the Gatlin Brothers and Alabama, Aldean's father also wrote out guitar chords on notebook paper to teach him how to play. Eventually, Aldean taught himself songs from listening to the radio. Early favorites included George Strait's "The Cowboy Rides Away," Hank Williams Jr.'s "The Blues Man" and Alabama's "My Home's in Alabama."

Inspired by a country music awards show on TV, 14-year-old Aldean decided to try performing, so his mother arranged for him to sing two songs at the VFW Hall in Macon. After that, he began performing at area talent contests and local fairs. At 15, he joined the house band at the Macon nightspot Nashville South. A year later, he bought his first vehicle with money he'd earned singing, a 1985 Toyota pickup with a rusted-out tailgate. By the time of his high school graduation, he decided to pursue music full-time.

UPDATE 07-31-09

We will be meeting at the Target parking lot in Gainesville at 2:30 p.m., not 1:30 p.m., as previously posted. This will still allow us plenty of time for a great tailgate, and getting good seats on the lawn. If you want to meet up with the group at Nissan, rather than carpooling, please call Karen on Saturday so we won't be waiting for you at Target.

Also, if you haven't posted what food item you'll be bringing for the tailgate, please do so now, so we'll have enough for everyone. We'll have sodas and bottled water, but remember, the tailgate is BYOB.

We will be tailgating with another meetup group, DC/MD/VA Adventures, so we can expect an additional 10 or so people.

(13301 Gateway Center Dr.) I will be bringing a table and a couple of chairs, a canopy and grill, a cooler with ice, and all of the paper/plastic products. I can also accommodate up to six (6) additional people + coolers and chairs, etc., for those of you who wish to carpool into Nissan. Otherwise, I will email my cell phone number on Friday to everyone else who wants to join us for the tailgate. The concert is scheduled to begin at 6:30.

Food and drink:
Everyone should bring an item to share from the list below so please email me directly and let me know what you are bringing. This is essential so we have enough for everyone and not too many duplications!
BYOB, and remember, coolers and alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed to be brought into the Pavilion area. Also, alcoholic beverages must be poured into cups while partying in the Nissan parking lot.
